Opinions on Financial Portfolios and the Stock Market.

Simplyalpha.ca provides opinions via the following formats. The services provided are simply opinions and are to be treated as such. There is no fiduciary responsibility implied or expressed. There is no professional designation or fiduciary license applied to the opinions.

 Portfolio Reviews

The review is provided to ensure that what is thought to be going on, is actually going on. If it is a mamaged portfolio, is it doing what the manager says it is doing at reasonable cost. If it is a self directed portfolio, is it going in the right direction. If it is in a fund, what is the fund actually doing.

The review provides an opinion, or a simple no comment if the position seems to be working well. The term 'second opinion' could be used in this circumstance, although it is non-professional and informal.

Trading Opinions

This is a service that trades equities and options within clients accounts. The client retains full control of the account while simplyalpha.ca is only given trading authority to buy and sell within the account. This is normally done through a self-directed account at a discount broker tied to the bank with which the account holder does business for ease of use. All aspects of the account are controlled by the account holder. The broker selected provides all documentation concerning the account, simplyalpha.ca only trades.

This form of opinion assists in entering into the stock market which has been identified as a place to be, but due to either lack of knowledge or of time has created a reluctance to invest.

Why and How

Money should earn money. If there are surplus funds over and above normal life operating costs, then let those funds work. Money is a live asset in that it depreciates or appreciates as the case may be. It should be cared for in the proper manner so that it can grow and reward the owner.

The opinions are provided as requested, with associated fees discussed prior to engagement. Portfolio review is based on a percentage of the portfolio value decreasing to zero on small portfolios. The trading opinion fees are based on a portion of the annual profit net of trading fees. All to be negotiated prior to engagement.
